Choose what to regenerate
- Limit regeneration to featured images when that suits the task.
- Add any number of thumbnail sizes to the list, choose the sizes to regenerate, and choose the preferred image quality.
- Set the interval to the last day, last week, last month, all images, or a custom interval.
Monitor and resume the run
A progress bar shows the percentage of images processed. When regeneration finishes, statistics display the total number of thumbnails regenerated. If you pause the process or the browser tab closes unexpectedly, use Resume to continue from where it stopped.
Pro tools for larger libraries and cleanup
WP-CLI support offers a command-line option for large image libraries or sites with limited wp-admin resources. Pro can also remove outdated thumbnails that are no longer used. You can choose to delete metadata for missing images and thumbnails, or remove missing images and thumbnails from the media library when their files no longer exist on disk, along with associated metadata.
Optimize after regeneration
For sites using ShortPixel Image Optimizer, enable the option to start image optimization automatically after thumbnail regeneration.
Start a regeneration
Open the extension settings, choose the image scope, thumbnail sizes, image quality, and interval, then start the process. Follow the progress bar and review the completion statistics. If the run is interrupted, use Resume to continue; use WP-CLI when a command-line process fits the site.
