Set up a country-aware phone field

Smart Phone Field for Gravity Forms Pro extends the standard Gravity Forms phone field with country-aware input and validation. It can select a country using the visitor’s IP address, show a country flag, capture the country code with the phone number, and format numbers as visitors type. Use it in contact, registration, quote request, application, or multistep forms that collect phone details from people in various regions.

Control country selection and phone entry

• Select a country automatically from the visitor’s IP address, or configure a default country and preferred countries.
• Choose from four supported phone number formats, including E.164, and add the country code automatically to the submitted number.
• Prevent form submission when a phone number fails validation, and set a custom message for phone field errors.
• Use IP-based merge tags to retrieve a visitor’s city, ZIP code, country, and other available IP-based information.

Use phone fields across form processes

Add multiple phone fields to a form, use the add-on with multiple forms on one page, or include phone fields in multistep forms. The add-on also works with Gravity Perks nested forms. Automatic country selection and the country flag are intended to work in popular browsers. Three flag options are available for configuring the field’s presentation.

Global settings provide a central place to manage available options. Pro also includes RTL support, translation support, and filter hooks for further configuration.

Enable the field in Gravity Forms

Install the Pro plugin on your WordPress site, then open the Gravity Forms dashboard and edit the form. Add or open a phone field and enable the smart phone field checkbox in its settings. Configure the country, validation, formatting, and other available options, then save the form. Visitors can use the enhanced field in the published form.
