User Activity Tracking and Log Premium

User Activity Tracking and Log records page visits automatically for logged-in and anonymous visitors. Premium includes session duration and tracking options so administrators of membership websites, learning platforms, WooCommerce stores, and other WordPress websites can review activity on articles, course pages, videos, or product pages. Visitors do not need to start or stop tracking.

What activity records can include

Logs can include visit and login or logout times, last-seen information, page name and URL, IP address, location based on IP, and referrer URL. For logged-in visitors, records can also include username, email address, and role. URL query strings, including UTM parameters, are logged, and a custom timezone setting controls how activity times appear.

Session duration and event goals

Premium adds session duration to activity logs and can track custom post types and archives. Administrators can define event goals for actions such as clicking a button, downloading a PDF, or using a mailto link. Email notifications can be enabled when an event is triggered.

Tracking can be limited to logged-in users or selected roles, such as subscribers. An automatic logout option can also be configured for idle users.

Review and use activity data

Search and filters help narrow the logs. Administrators can export records to CSV or use REST API endpoints to retrieve activity logs in JSON format for other workflows.

  • Review time spent on articles or course pages.
  • See how long visitors view WooCommerce product pages.
  • Monitor selected visitor roles and actions such as button clicks or downloads.

Privacy and setup

The extension stores no cookies on visitors’ computers, and user data is stored locally on the website rather than on the publisher’s servers. IP addresses can be anonymized. Site owners can configure tracking and data handling for their own requirements.

Install the User Activity Tracking and Log extension and its Premium add-on. In the plugin settings, pick which users, roles, post types, and archives to track, then configure session, event, privacy, timezone, filter, export, and notification options. Create event goals for the actions to monitor and review the logs as visitors use the website.

WordPress Multisite is supported, with a separate tracking log and database for each subsite. The plugin is also compatible with WordPress themes, WooCommerce, other user registration extensions, and caching add-ons.
