ACF Field For CF7 Pro

ACF Field For CF7 Pro connects Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) with Contact Form 7 (CF7). Its ACF field lists available CF7 forms for editors to select, so they can save a choice without copying shortcode text. For template-based output, a relevant theme template must output the selected value for the form to appear on the front end.

Choose forms for pages and shared areas

Assign the field to landing pages or service pages to select a form for each one. Pages can share a template while displaying different forms according to their saved selections. An ACF option page can hold a website-wide form choice for a header, footer, or sidebar. On multilingual sites, editors can choose a form for each language version.

Pro works with Contact Form 7 forms in the Gutenberg block editor, widget areas, and supported Theme Customizer panels. The field can remain empty when a form is not needed. Forms marked as disabled cannot be selected.

Set up the field and its output

Advanced Custom Fields and Contact Form 7 must both be active. For template-based output, a one-time setup makes the ACF field and adds its value to the relevant theme template:

  1. Create a form in Contact Form 7.
  2. Create an ACF field with the contact_form_7 field type.
  3. Assign the field to the page, post, option page, widget, or supported Customizer location where it will be used.
  4. Select a Contact Form 7 form from the field’s dropdown and save the content.
  5. For template-based output, use the ACF value in the template where the form should appear.

A template can read the selected value with the standard ACF function get_field(). When more control over output is needed, the acf_cf7_object filter can return a WPCF7_ContactForm object.

Compatibility

The supplied compatibility information lists ACF 5 and ACF 6, Contact Form 7 5.9 and above, WordPress 6.0 and above, and PHP 8.1 and above.
