Disqus discussions for WordPress publishers

Reader discussions and engagement
Comments support voting, mentions, spoiler tags, photo and video uploads, rich media embeds, and HTML formatting for bold text, links, italics, and quotations. Suitable discussions can use code syntax highlighting. Threads can be nested up to three levels, collapsed individually, and sorted by oldest, newest, or best comments.
Readers can sign in with Facebook, Twitter, or Google, or comment as guests. Notifications and personalized email digests can bring readers back to conversations. Profiles display comment history and frequented communities, while a recommendations widget points to other active discussions on the site. Disqus Polls can be created and embedded to gather audience responses.
Moderation, syncing, and export
An automatic anti-spam filter powered by Akismet and pre-moderation controls can flag comments based on links or visitor reputation. Moderators can review discussions in place, by email, or in the moderation panel, which supports searching, filtering, sorting, and comment management. Available self-moderation utilities include user blocking and comment flagging.
Comment importing and Comment Syncing are separate operations. Syncing is off by default; when enabled, it copies comments from Disqus back to WordPress as a backup. Set it up through Automatic Installation or by creating an API application. You can also export comments in WordPress-compatible XML for backup or migration.
Business plan and site tools
Business is part of Disqus's ad-optional subscription plans for larger commercial sites. These plans include more advanced features and access to priority support. Single Sign-On is available to Business subscribers as an add-on; it lets customers in your database comment without registering with Disqus and can be configured for WordPress.
The system includes an analytics dashboard for overall engagement and monetization options for publishers. It loads asynchronously with advanced caching, and its interface is designed for mobile devices.
