Manage mapped content from one WordPress site

Domain Mapping System Pro lets you assign domains to published posts, pages, products, custom post types, archives, categories and custom taxonomies. Manage the content and its domain assignments from one WordPress dashboard while visitors view selected resources under their mapped domains.

Build microsites around a domain

Group published resources into a microsite with its own homepage and inner pages. This lets you organize distinct brands, locations, campaigns or audience destinations while keeping their content in the same WordPress installation. Global Domain Mapping can automatically map published content across the website. Global Parent Page Mapping and Global Archive Mapping extend the organization to related pages and archives.

Control mapping and URL behavior

  • Map subdomains to the primary WordPress site, or map subdirectory URLs to content elsewhere on the site.
  • Map archives, blog categories and custom taxonomies, as well as individual content.
  • Enable redirects so visitors reach the mapped version of a page.
  • Choose global or selective URL rewriting, and set a favicon or custom code for each domain.
  • Preserve query string parameters, including UTM values, on mapped URLs.
  • Support login on alias domains or subdomains for protected areas, such as WooCommerce account pages.

SEO, WooCommerce and multisite

Yoast SEO integration delivers settings for custom titles, descriptions, keywords and sitemaps for mapped domains. WooCommerce integration covers Shop, Checkout and Cart pages; products and product archives can also be mapped.

WordPress Multisite is supported in both the free and Pro versions. Each site in a configured network can map its own domains. Multisite setup requires the appropriate configuration, including a custom sunrise.php file.

Configure the server before mapping domains

Point the domains’ DNS A entries to the same server and add each mapped domain as an alias, with its root folder pointing to the WordPress installation. For HTTPS, configure SSL certificates for the mapped domains. The supplied setup guidance specifies that either all domains must have SSL certificates or none can show secured content through the mapping.

After the server is configured, install and activate the add-on. In its options, add each alias domain and assign it to the published resource it should display.
