Import custom content and manage records

The base importer handles posts, pages, categories, tags, users and attachments. Pro adds imports for custom fields, custom post types and custom taxonomies. Use a unique identifier to match records for insert or update operations, then choose whether each importer can insert, update or delete records. Scheduled importers can execute recurring updates; import history and logs let you review completed runs.

Connect CSV and XML sources

Choose a local upload, remote URL or data feed, FTP server, published or downloadable Google Sheet, or file on your web server. Set the CSV delimiter, enclosure and character encoding. For XML, define the document base path to identify each record, then choose nodes or attributes with the visual selector or use XPath.

Handle media and integrations

Import images and other attachments from remote URLs, FTP, the local filesystem or the WordPress media library. Reuse existing media to avoid duplicates, and map attachment titles, captions, alt text and descriptions.

Free add-ons connect Import WP with WooCommerce, Yoast SEO, Rank Math SEO, Polylang, WPML and BLM property feeds. The WooCommerce add-on works with importing and exporting products, variations, images, attributes, categories, prices and stock. The Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and JetEngine add-ons handle their respective data and require Import WP Pro.

Export WordPress data

The built-in exporter in Import WP creates CSV, XML or JSON files. Choose fields and filter records, tailor CSV headings, and set XML node or attribute names. Exports can include posts, pages, taxonomies, custom fields, images, attachments, terms and related data. Nested XML supports repeating data.
