Say What Pro brings string discovery and replacement controls together for translatable text from WordPress core, themes, and extensions. Enter the existing string and its replacement, and the extension applies the change without modifying source documents. The string must be marked for translation.

Find the text visitors see

String Discovery mode includes autocomplete suggestions to help locate a string without first searching source code. It works with server-side strings and text rendered by JavaScript.

Set replacement scope and language

• Wildcard replacements: Replace individual words or fragments across the website.
• Text-domain-specific filters: Apply filters to selected text domains to improve performance.
• Multilingual replacements: Set various replacement text for different languages on multilingual sites.

Use a specific string for a focused change, a wildcard for a word or fragment, or separate replacement text for each language.

Manage replacement data

Import and export replacements through the visitor interface. The wider Say What? extension also has preliminary WP-CLI support: export and list export current replacements, while import and update use CSV files.

Set up your replacements

1. Install and activate Say What Pro in WordPress.
2. Find the translatable text you want to change, using String Discovery and autocomplete when helpful.
3. Enter the current string and its replacement.
4. On multilingual sites, configure the appropriate replacement for each language.
5. Use the interface’s import or export tools when you need to manage replacement data that way.

Once configured, replacements apply to supported translatable strings from WordPress core, themes, and extensions. You can use them to adjust labels, notices, buttons, and other interface text.
