Super RSS Reader Pro routes feeds into WordPress displays
Super RSS Reader Pro expands the Super RSS Reader widget with more ways to place and arrange RSS and Atom content. Add the widget to a widget area, or use [srr_feed] to place a feed display elsewhere on the website.
Feed sources can include your own website, related sites, forums, event and job listings, deals, Craigslist, Google News RSS, and other RSS sources. Enter multiple feed URLs in the widget, separated by commas or new lines, to display each feed in its own tab. Feed merging combines multiple RSS feeds into one display.
Choose how users browse entries
- Grid display: Arrange feed items in rows and columns.
- Pagination: Divide items across pages with a pagination bar.
- Keyword filtering: Show or hide items according to selected keywords.
- Custom item templates: Change the order of feed content and add HTML to the item structure.
- Thumbnail fetching: Fetch a thumbnail from the feed URL.
- Color themes: Choose from four additional themes.
Feed items can show titles, dates, authors, descriptions, and thumbnails. The extension also supports thumbnail positions on the left, right, or cover, plus absolute or relative date formats. Titles and descriptions can be trimmed, and items can be ordered by date or at random.
Adjust the presentation
Use a grid to display items in columns, or pagination to spread a longer feed across pages. Custom templates control the order of item content and allow HTML. The widget can also be customized with external CSS.
The vertical ticker effect can be enabled or disabled, and its speed can be customized. RSS and Atom feeds are supported.
Set up feeds and caching
Install Super RSS Reader Pro, then add the Super RSS Reader widget where the feed should appear or use the [srr_feed] shortcode elsewhere on the site. When configuring multiple feeds in the widget, enter their URLs separated by commas or on new lines; the widget displays them as tabs.
WordPress caches RSS feeds for 12 hours by default. The cache duration can be changed with the wp_feed_cache_transient_lifetime filter. Lower refresh values may increase server load.
