What customers enter at checkout

When a customer requests an invoice, the relevant fields can be required. You can change the invoice dropdown labels, for example from “Yes” and “No” to “Invoice” and “Receipt”. The company field can be moved alongside the invoice fields; when moved, it becomes required. Required fields can also receive the required CSS class.

Where administrators manage invoice details

Invoice fields appear in customer profiles and admin order details, where administrators can review or edit them. For phone orders, an administrator can pull saved information from the customer profile and edit it. The fields can also be included in emails sent to customers.

How VAT checks work

EU VIES can validate a customer's VAT number. If validation fails, the order will not proceed and the customer will be notified. When it succeeds, the VIES response is recorded in the admin order screen. You can disable VAT validation when it does not fit the store's process.

Customer VAT details can also be checked against AADE, with fields filled automatically. The product information also describes an AADE option in the backend for retrieving VAT details and creating a customer account.

Features listed as coming soon

PDF invoice and receipt creation with custom numbering, along with POL39, are listed as “Coming Soon” and should be treated as planned features.
