Schedule backups and choose what to include
Run backups manually or schedule them every 2, 4, 8, or 12 hours, daily, weekly, fortnightly, or monthly. Set a specific execute time, such as a low-traffic period, and send backups to multiple locations.
- Create a backup automatically before WordPress or add-on updates, so you have a recent copy to restore if an update causes a problem.
- Use incremental backups to add changes to the master backup instead of repeatedly creating a full backup, which can help save server resources.
- Choose how many backups to retain within a specified interval. Detailed reports include cryptographic checksums for verifying backup file integrity.
- Back up non-WordPress files and databases, including e-commerce tables or custom WordPress core modifications.
- Encrypt database backups.
Store and restore backups
UpdraftPlus works with Dropbox, Google Drive, Amazon S3 or compatible services, Rackspace Cloud, FTP, DreamObjects, OpenStack Swift, and email. Premium adds Microsoft OneDrive, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Backblaze B2, SFTP, SCP, pCloud, WebDAV, and UpdraftVault, which includes 1GB of integrated storage.
Choose which components to restore, such as extensions, themes, or the database. Premium can also restore backups made by other backup plugins, including BackWPup, BackupWordPress, and Simple Backups.
Migrate and manage WordPress sites
Premium migration can connect to the destination site directly from the source site. A built-in search-and-replace engine updates old strings to reflect the new location when moving to another host, server, or domain.
Multisite and multi-network compatibility covers broader WordPress installations, and WP-CLI can manage backups and migrations. For multiple sites, UpdraftCentral provides a central dashboard for backup management. UpdraftClone can create a temporary site clone for testing changes.
