WordPress plugin
WP Accessibility Helper Pro
Web accessibility means removing barriers that can prevent people with disabilities from using a website. WP Accessibility Helper Pro provides a user-facing sidebar for display adjustments, along with utilities for website owners to review common page details. These tools support accessibility work, but the add-on does not guarantee a fully accessible result at level A, AA, or AAA. Results also depend on the quality of the website code; consult an accessibility expert for a full assessment.

Choose how visitors adjust text and display
Font resizing can use REM units, the add-on's zoom option, or a script. Choose REM resizing only if the theme is built with REM units. Zoom can help when a site's CSS sizing is mixed or unclear. The script option calculates font sizes for headings h1 through h6 and links, and includes a reset button.
Other sidebar controls include custom contrast colors, Lights Off mode, dark and light themes, greyscale images, and options to invert colors and images. Visitors can switch to a readable Arial font or pick web-safe font families. Site owners can also offer link underlining or highlighting and an option to remove CSS animations.
Review page content and structure
The DOM Scanner checks pages and posts for accessibility-related details, including image alt information, link roles, and link titles. The attachments control center uses AJAX functions to manage images and edit attachment titles and alt tags. For markup and structure, options can add role="link" to anchor elements, remove title attributes from links, and manage HTML5 landmarks.
Set up the sidebar and keyboard access
Visitors can open the sidebar with Alt+Z and close it with Alt+X. It includes skip links, and site owners can set its position to the left or right, hide it on mobile devices, and reorder widgets with drag and drop. A cookie option saves selected contrast settings, with a separate control to clear them.
If the accessibility icon is not visible, check that the theme includes wp_head(), wp_footer(), and body_class(). REM-based resizing also depends on the theme using REM units.
