Back up, migrate, and stage WordPress sites

WPvivid Backup & Migration Pro is a paid WordPress edition for managing site backups, migrations, and staging processes. It helps you create copies of a site, test changes in a staging environment, move websites between locations, and restore stored backups when needed. The edition is suitable for website owners and administrators who need more control over backup contents, destinations, schedules, and access.

Backups can include the complete site, all files, or the database only. This lets you select a backup scope for a particular task, whether you need a full copy, a files-focused archive, or a database backup.

Flexible backup workflows

WPvivid Backup & Migration Pro supports automatic backups with schedules that can run every 12 hours, daily, weekly, fortnightly, or monthly. You can select the items to back up and choose the destination. Incremental backups are also included, providing an additional way to organize recurring backup activity.

Backup customization includes WordPress, themes, and extensions. Database backup encryption is available for database backup workflows. When a backup is needed, one-click restore includes a direct way to restore a WordPress site from a backup.

Remote and offsite storage

Backups can be sent to remote storage instead of remaining only on the website’s server. WPvivid supports Dropbox, Google Drive, Amazon S3, Microsoft OneDrive, DigitalOcean Spaces, FTP, and SFTP. The Pro edition also supports Wasabi, pCloud, Backblaze, WebDAV, and more.

Remote backups can be restored, and a site can be migrated through remote storage. When remote storage is enabled, the extension can connect to third-party storage providers to store backup archives and required authentication tokens.

Migration and staging

WPvivid can clone and migrate a WordPress site to a new domain with a single click. Supported workflows include moving from a development environment to a new server, from a development environment to a new domain, or from a live server to another server.

Staging sites can be created in a subdirectory of the production site for testing WordPress, extensions, themes, and other website changes. You can choose what to copy from the live site to the staging site, then push a staging site to live when the changes are ready. Pro also supports WordPress multisite backup and multisite staging.

Administration features

The Pro edition can create a fresh WordPress installation, migrate a child site from a multisite installation to a single WordPress install, and control visitor access to WPvivid Backup & Migration Pro. White labeling is also available for workflows that require a customized presentation.

Installation and first steps

Install WPvivid Backup & Migration Pro on the WordPress site you want to manage. Begin by choosing the backup contents, schedule, and destination. You can then configure remote storage, create a staging site, or prepare a migration according to the required process.

The extension lists minimum requirements of WordPress 4.5, PHP 5.3, MySQL 4.1, and UTF-8 character encoding.
