How WordPress content becomes social updates
XPoster sends WordPress updates to Bluesky, Mastodon, and X. Customizable status templates generate messages for posts, pages, and custom post types when they are updated or edited. Custom template tags let you shape the text for individual items.
Choose accounts and timing
Authors can set up their own social accounts in their WordPress profiles. XPoster Pro can send updates to site accounts and author accounts at the same time. Delayed updates and scheduled update management let teams plan when messages go out; older posts can also be scheduled automatically.
Filter content and prepare updates
Taxonomy filters choose updates by category, tag, or custom taxonomy. For comments, you can preview and send status updates. Image uploads support alt attributes. Integrated Card support and Player Cards with integrated captions are available where supported.
Base XPoster tools
XPoster can use post tags as hashtags and alternate URLs in place of post permalinks. It works with Google Analytics, XMLRPC remote clients, and external URL shorteners including YOURLS, Bitly, jotURL, and Hum. Rate limiting helps manage X.com API limits.
Configure a publishing process
In WordPress, configure the supported social account applications in XPoster options and set up status templates. Review author profile settings if authors will publish through their own accounts. Then select timing, taxonomy, media, and card settings for the workflow. Before relying on scheduled publishing, preview the update and confirm its account and message.
