Queries and loading

Ajax Load More Pro loads WordPress content without refreshing the page. A query determines which content appears; infinite scroll, load more controls, and lazy-loading workflows determine how visitors receive it. The Pro bundle offers access to all current and future Ajax Load More add-ons in a single plugin installation.

Use the Query and Shortcode Builder to set WordPress query parameters, including post types, categories, tags, custom taxonomies, search terms, dates, and authors. Place results with a block, shortcode, or PHP function and template tag. Multiple instances can sit on the same page, post, or template, each loading a various content collection.

Content and integrations

Core content settings include posts, pages, custom post types, comments, multipage posts and pages, and WooCommerce products. Available extensions add workflows for WordPress terms and visitors, Relevanssi and SearchWP results, and the WordPress REST API. These integrations are provided through their respective extensions.

Add-ons and presentation

Pro add-ons provide front-end and admin filters and facets, infinite scroll for the WordPress Query Loop block, multipage content, progress bars, and scroll containers. The Advanced Custom Fields integration supports Flexible Content, Gallery, Relationship, and Repeater fields.

Templates control how loaded results look. Repeater templates can be edited and extended, loaded from a theme directory, and managed across a multisite network. On activation, Ajax Load More makes a default repeater template. The server must allow files to be read, written, and created; template data is stored in the database and written to a PHP file.

Prefetching loads the next set of posts into memory before a visitor uses a load more button or infinite scroll, which can reduce perceived waiting. The Preloaded add-on loads initial posts before sending Ajax requests to the server. The SEO add-on generates unique paging URLs for each query.

Developer controls

Repeater templates receive PHP variables such as the current item, page number, and total posts found. Callback functions run at stages in the extension lifecycle, and WordPress filter hooks let developers insert or modify data. These controls extend the builder and shortcode workflows through theme or plugin code.
