Choose how documents appear in WordPress

Document Embedder Pro displays supported documents in WordPress posts and pages so visitors can read them without leaving your website. Supported formats include PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets, presentations, pictures, code files, and other listed formats. Upload a file locally, choose one from the WordPress Media Library, or enter a URL, including one for a file hosted on Google Drive or Dropbox.

Add documents with a Gutenberg block or the [doc id="123"] shortcode. Page builder workflows are supported too. Set viewer width and height for desktop, tablet, and mobile. Choose the default Google Viewer, a custom PDF viewer, an interactive flipbook, or a slideshow-style slider to control the document presentation.

Set viewing and download rules

The Email Gate asks visitors for their name and email address before they download a file. Submissions appear in the Leads Dashboard, where you can search, filter, and export them as a CSV file.

Viewing and downloading can each be limited to logged-in visitors or selected user roles. You can set a custom message for visitors who do not meet the requirements. For local PDFs, secure delivery uses a signed link that expires and is bound to the visitor's IP address, so the file URL is not exposed in the page.

Configure download labels, placement, behavior, and filenames. Download counts and visitor limits are available for supported download workflows.

Customize the PDF experience

Add notes, highlights, links, and call-to-action buttons as overlays on PDF pages. Percentage-based positioning helps keep each element aligned as the document zoom changes. A lightbox modal can open from a styled button, image, or another page element.

Toolbar colors can be set to Dark, Light, or Custom. These controls change the viewer's presentation while the selected viewer determines how the document is displayed.

Organize files in a document library

The Document Library module groups multiple files in a structured layout. Add documents from your device, the WordPress Media Library, or a URL, then rename or delete them. Libraries can include search and filtering, with sorting by file size, name, or recent upload. Choose a responsive layout and control whether file icons, details, dates, view buttons, and download buttons appear.
