GN Publisher PRO extends GN Publisher for WordPress sites using the Google News Publisher Center. The base extension makes RSS feeds designed to comply with Google News RSS Feed Technical Requirements and addresses common feed problems: incomplete articles, duplicate images, missing images or other media, missing social media or Instagram embeds, missing or repeated titles, slow updates from cached feeds, and delayed crawling by Google.

Feed controls and publishing compatibility

GN Publisher handles feed output and update signals. PRO includes feed controls and compatibility features:

• Content Scraping Protection: a capability intended to protect published content from scraping.
• Category exclusions: keep selected categories out of the main feed.
• Google News sitemap: includes support for a Google News sitemap.
• Flipboard: compatibility for workflows involving Flipboard.
• PublishPress Authors: compatibility for use alongside PublishPress Authors.
• TranslatePress: compatibility for publishing environments that use TranslatePress.
• Yandex Turbo: compatibility for Yandex Turbo.

GN Publisher also includes compatibility with Apple News publishing and Google Reader Revenue Manager. Reader Revenue Manager offers publisher solutions intended to deepen audience engagement and convert subscribers or contributors.

Feed status and setup

GN Publisher can show the time of Google's most recent ping and feed fetch. These details can help troubleshoot empty sections in the Google News Publisher Center. The plugin also pings Google when feeds are updated, which can help with faster updates to a Google News publication.

Install and activate GN Publisher PRO through WordPress admin, then open Dashboard > Settings > GN Publisher. Check the feed URL and review the available settings for your feed structure, categories and compatibility needs. The dashboard includes more information about setup and troubleshooting Google News Publisher Center issues.

For questions, use the WordPress GN Publisher support forum or the publisher's support team. GitHub is for qualified bug reports, not general support.
