Choose content and set individual rules
Sitemap settings let you include or exclude supported content, set priority and frequency, add custom internal or external URLs, and add custom sitemap documents to an index. Pro adds exclusions for individual pages, posts, and custom posts, plus category and tag exclusions. You can also include only selected categories and tags. For a single page, post, or custom post, set its priority and frequency or exclude it from the sitemap.
Publish a browsable HTML sitemap
Create an HTML sitemap that lists selected pages, posts, and custom post types. Add it to a page with a shortcode or show it with a widget for Elementor, Gutenberg, or WPBakery.
Configure news, picture, video, and language sitemaps
The Google News sitemap can include a publication name, language, title, and publication date. Settings support a custom news publication name and sitemap URL, and the capability is compatible with WPML, Polylang, TranslatePress, and the Google Publisher Center sitemap protocol.
Image sitemaps can include images from pages, posts, and custom post content. Pro adds settings for image MIME types, broken image exclusions, featured images, and WooCommerce galleries. Video sitemaps collect supported video content from pages, posts, and custom posts; Pro also supports YouTube, Vimeo, and X videos. Both image and video sitemaps can be organized through a sitemap index and use custom sitemap URLs. Multilingual sitemaps are compatible with WPML, Polylang, and TranslatePress.
Manage caching and broken-link checks
Sitemap caching includes an expiration setting, a display of the last cached time, and an option to clear the cache. Pro's broken-link scan checks links and images in published content included in the sitemap, then reports broken URLs, redirects, and URLs it could not check. You can recheck or ignore a URL, and schedule scans daily, weekly, or monthly.
Other tools include robots.txt integration, WP-CLI commands, settings import and export, and compatibility with Yoast, Rank Math, and The SEO Framework. The extension also supports IndexNow notifications.
Set up the sitemap
Install and activate the extension in WordPress, then open its settings. Choose a sitemap structure, content types, and formats. Configure content rules, language and HTML sitemap options, and caching as needed. Save the settings, review the generated sitemaps, and adjust them when your content changes.
