LocoAI Pro and LocoAI Premium License add automatic translation to the Loco Translate editor for translatable strings in WordPress extensions and themes. Choose a provider, run a translation, then review and edit the results in the same editor. The addon does not automatically translate page or post content.

From source strings to edited translations

Install LocoAI alongside Loco Translate, open a plugin or theme language file, and select Auto Translate. Choose a supported provider to process the strings, then check the returned text and refine it before applying the translations to your project. The addon does not impose a character limit, though provider quotas, charges, and service limits may apply.

Provider access and requirements

Yandex Translate, Chrome built-in AI, and Edge built-in AI are available in both free and paid editions. LocoAI Pro and LocoAI Premium License add ChatGPT, Gemini, the Google Translate widget, DeepL document translation, OpenAI, and Ollama Cloud. The languages available depend on the selected provider.

Yandex Translate and the ChatGPT process do not require a provider API key. Gemini, DeepL document translation, OpenAI, and Ollama Cloud require their own API keys. DeepL document translation includes a limited number of free document translations per day or can be used with DeepL Pro. Chrome and Edge built-in AI require a compatible desktop browser, a secure connection, and language support for the selected language pair.

LocoAI connects to third-party translation widgets and services; it does not provide those services. Providers set their own usage charges, quotas, and limits.

Guide wording with context and tone

The paid edition includes Translation Context & Tone options. Add business context, brand tone, and target-audience information to guide the translated wording. Review the results before using them on a live website, especially for customer-facing text, technical terms, and brand-specific language.

The paid edition includes premium support with a stated response time of 24-48 hours. Provider requirements and availability vary by integration.
