Choose where a content change happens

Better Find And Replace Pro searches and replaces text, HTML, links, media references, and database URLs across a WordPress site. Database replacements can target selected tables and content areas, including custom tables and serialized data. Options such as regular expressions and whole-word matching help narrow the search.

Real-time masking applies text, link, or HTML changes before a page loads without changing database content. It can also work with content loaded through Ajax or jQuery.

How do you preview a database replacement?

1. Enter the search and replacement values, then select the relevant tables or content areas.
2. Choose Dry Run and generate a report.
3. Review the affected rows and data. If the preview is accurate, close the report, uncheck Dry Run, and click Find & Replace.

Database replacements cannot be undone unless the Pro undo capability was installed before the replacement, so review the report before applying a change.

How do media updates protect existing files?

Replace pictures with drag-and-drop utilities, regenerate thumbnails, and update or add alt text, captions, and metadata. AI suggestions can propose replacement text and media-related improvements. Safe Media Replacement keeps the original file until the new upload has fully committed and restores it automatically if something goes wrong. Missing Media Detection finds content that points to files no longer on the server and lets you replace them.

How are broken links, redirects, and 404s handled?

The Site Health Dashboard brings together a website score, issue count, and activity log. Link scanning covers internal links in posts, pages, and public custom post types, with details about where a broken link appears, its link text, and how often it is used. Pro maintenance tools also check external links, images, and embeds, with scheduled or background scans, grouped failure causes such as timeout, DNS, SSL, or rate limiting, and bulk fixes across occurrences.

• Create and manage 301 redirects with switches and hit counts. Pro also supports 302 and 307 redirects, regex and prefix matching, and automatic redirects when a slug changes.
• Detect redirect chains, loops, and self-redirects. Import or export redirects and review their analytics.
• Optionally log 404 hits with referrers and hit counts while filtering bot traffic. Turn an entry into a redirect or find where the missing URL is still linked.
• Use Replace + Redirect to change a URL across content and make its matching redirect in one previewed step.

What do the AI revision tools change?

Safe Revision displays an AI suggestion as a full diff for selective approval, merging, publishing, or rollback. AI Content Refresher scans posts for outdated years, software versions, prices, and dead references, then applies approved rewrites as a reversible revision. The Maintenance Agent groups related problems, ranks them, prepares a plan for approval, runs the approved batch, and reports what changed.

What other maintenance tasks can you run?

Duplicate or clone posts, pages, and public custom post types as drafts. Bulk cloning supports metadata selection and is described as WooCommerce-aware and page-builder-aware. Code Inserts adds HTML, CSS, or JavaScript snippets to the header, body start, or footer without editing the theme; PHP is not executed. Long scans can run through Action Scheduler or WP-Cron so administration screens do not wait for them.

Install and activate Better Find And Replace Pro in WordPress, open its settings, and select a task. For database changes, enter the values, pick the tables or content areas, and run a dry report before applying the replacement.
