Media Sync Pro: Scan and Import WordPress Uploads
Media Sync Pro scans the WordPress uploads directory and shows which files are already in the Media Library and which are missing. Select the files to import them into the Media Library. Uploading files by FTP or another process can help when another upload method’s file size limit is a problem.

Scan large or changing upload folders
Incremental directory scans are designed to scan and import an unlimited number of files in smaller operations, helping address memory and timeout challenges that can arise when handling many files at once. Server limits may still affect an import. You can also rescan a single directory to find new files or apply a different filter without reloading the page.
Choose which files appear in results
Customize the default filters, search by file type such as pictures or videos, skip files with tailored rules, or enter a custom pattern. By default, the scan commonly ignores hidden files such as .DS_Store and .htaccess, WordPress-generated thumbnails and scaled images, optimized WebP versions of original images, and retina thumbnails. Filters let you change or extend how these files are handled.
Schedule imports and manage access
Choose an interval for automatic imports of newly found files, using the configured scan and filters. Import logs show the history of manual and scheduled imports. You can also limit access to the plugin’s scanning and importing utilities to a specific WordPress role.
Set up and troubleshoot an import
Install and activate Media Sync Pro, then open Settings > Media Sync to configure the scan, filters, schedule, and access role as needed. Start with one file to check the result. To add files to the Media Library, make sure Dry Run is not enabled.
If an import stalls or spins endlessly, review the server’s max_execution_time and memory_limit options. If the add-on does not behave as expected, enable debugging in Settings > Media Sync and inspect the Network tab in Chrome DevTools. Include the observed errors when reporting the issue through the available support section.
