How approval affects account access
When someone registers, administrators receive an email alert and can approve or deny the account. The user receives an email about the decision. Approved users get their login details and can access the site; pending and denied users cannot log in. Existing users remain approved when the plugin is installed, and administrators can change approval statuses later. Custom statuses and notification options help organize reviews.
Rules for signups and approvals
- Invitation codes: Restrict registration to invited people. Add codes manually, generate them in bulk, email them, or import existing codes. Codes can have usage limits and expiry dates, and a valid code can automatically approve a registration.
- Email domains: Automatically approve registrations from trusted domains and blacklist generic or suspicious domains.
- User roles: Select roles for automatic approval in the add-on settings.
- Registration deadlines: Close registration at a specified date or time, or after a set number of signups. People with a valid invitation code can still register after the limit.
- Email notifications: Customize messages for users and administrators, suppress denial notifications when preferred, and format emails with HTML.
Role requests and Zapier events
Approved users can request a role change through a shortcode or account page. Administrators manage these requests in a dedicated area.
Extended Zapier triggers cover users becoming approved, denied, pending, or automatically approved through a role, email domain, or invitation code. These events can connect with services such as Gmail, Sheets, and Slack.
Review registrations on mobile
A dedicated mobile app lets administrators review complete user profiles, approve or deny registrations with a tap, and receive push notifications for new signups.
Configure the approval workflow
Install New User Approve from the WordPress Plugins area and activate it. Then set notification preferences, approval rules, invitation settings, deadlines, and role-request behavior to suit the site's registration process. Documentation covers installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
