MFB Pro

Meta Field Block displays custom field values in the WordPress Block Editor. MFB Pro extends it so supported complex fields can become structured blocks or supply values to core blocks, giving dynamic templates a block-based way to present data without custom display blocks for common layouts.

Choose a layout for complex fields

ACF Group and Flexible Content fields can be rendered as container blocks. Repeater entries can use row, stack, grid, carousel, or accordion layouts. Nested values can appear through the Sub Field Block or bind to supported core blocks. Meta Box Group fields can use container layouts, and Cloneable Group fields can be arranged as repeaters.

  • Display ACF Image fields as Image blocks and ACF Gallery fields in grid, masonry, or carousel layouts.
  • Present supported ACF File, Link, URL, Email, and oEmbed fields using suitable blocks, buttons, or links. ACF Google Map fields are also supported.
  • Use ACF Relationship and Post Object fields, and Meta Box Post fields, as Query Loops. Display taxonomy fields as Terms Query blocks.

Meta Box field types with corresponding ACF types can use the same Pro features.

Bind values to core blocks

Supported fields from ACF, Meta Box, core metadata, and core settings can bind directly to Heading, Paragraph, Button, Image, Video, and Embed blocks. Image, video, or embed values can also supply a Cover block background. For Group, Repeater, and Flexible Content fields, use a container block, then show nested values with the Sub Field Block or bind them to supported core blocks.

Place blocks in the right context

Use Meta Field Block on its own or nest it inside a parent block that supplies postId and postType context, such as Query Loop, WooCommerce Product Collection, or Term Query. Blocks can display fields from a specific post, term, or visitor. For a field to appear in the editor, it must be available through the REST API or have its field type set to dynamic.

Developer hook APIs can personalize block output, handle complex values, or use the block as a placeholder for content with object_id and object_type context. The block can also display shortcode output, including in a Query Loop where the correct post ID is needed. MFB Pro displays field data; it does not input or save meta values.
