Open supported WordPress content in a lightbox

ARI Fancy Lightbox Pro is a WordPress popup tool based on Fancybox. It displays supported content in responsive lightboxes on mobile and desktop. Supported links and galleries can open without additional HTML modifications.

Gallery, video, and document sources

Images can come from native WordPress galleries, Jetpack galleries, NextGEN, FooGallery, Justified Image Grid, and WooCommerce product images. Integration with Justified Image Grid extends gallery settings for sites using that system.

Videos from YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Vine, and Metacafe can open in the lightbox. Local PDF documents use a cross-browser PDFJS viewer. Google Maps links, web pages, and inline content can appear in the same popup.

Direct links, comments, and sharing

Pro makes a unique deeplink for each lightbox entry. Opening that link in a browser can automatically display the corresponding picture, video, document, or other supported item. Pro also integrates with the Facebook comment extension and supports sharing through Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and VK. Visitors can send content by email as well.

Player settings and screen behavior

For YouTube, Vimeo, and Dailymotion content, Pro delivers extended player parameters, including autoplay, related-video settings, and the fullscreen button, along with other available options. You can disable the lightbox on small screens when a popup does not suit that display size.

Opening behavior and display controls

A shortcode can make a splash window that opens when a page loads, with an option to show it only once. External or internal links with a target="_blank" attribute can also open inside the popup. On supported devices, visitors can tap, zoom, pan, pinch, and swipe to navigate. The lightbox can include slideshow mode, loop navigation, fullscreen viewing, and a thumbnails toolbar. Titles can come from EXIF data or file names, and style controls adjust the lightbox presentation. You can disable right-clicking for images to prevent visitors from copying image URLs.

Installation and setup

1. Install and activate ARI Fancy Lightbox Pro in WordPress.
2. Choose the supported gallery items, media links, pages, PDFs, or inline content to display.
3. Configure the lightbox style, navigation, slideshow, thumbnails, and screen behavior.
4. Add Pro options such as deeplinks, sharing, video parameters, or a shortcode splash window as needed.
5. Save the settings and test the popup on the relevant device sizes.
