PW WooCommerce Gift Cards Pro adds gift card sales and management tools to a WooCommerce shop. Customers choose a preset amount, enter the recipient’s email address, and can add a personal message. The recipient receives an email with the gift card code and can redeem it without creating an account.

Amounts, delivery, and email

When custom amounts are enabled, clients can enter a value within the minimum and maximum set by the store. The store can preselect a default amount, and customers can schedule delivery for a chosen time. Recipients can view the gift card as a PDF for printing.

Gift card emails use WooCommerce’s email template system. A link in the email can add the card to the cart automatically. The enhanced email designer adds customization settings, including an picture. A QR code can be included in the email, the PDF, or both.

Redemption and balance options

Recipients can enter the gift card number on the cart or checkout page, or use the email link to add it to the cart. The balance is applied after tax, and the updated balance appears on the cart and checkout pages. Gift cards are not tied to a specific account, so recipients can redeem them as guests.

A shortcode can create a customer-facing page for checking gift card balances. Customers can also add funds to an existing card from the Check Balance page. Stores can optionally configure the existing Apply Coupon field to accept gift card numbers.

Store administration

Administrators can review total gift card liability, inspect individual cards, and adjust balances in the admin area. Import and export tools help move card balances. For physical gift cards, stores can import existing card numbers and balances for redemption online or in a physical store. Administrators can also generate multiple cards in one step by specifying an amount and quantity.

Expiration dates can be set automatically based on the purchase date. Bonus Gift Cards let a store offer an additional gift card with a purchase, such as a $5 card with a $25 card purchase.

WooCommerce compatibility and setup

The add-on works with WooCommerce Blocks-based Cart and Checkout pages and is compatible with High Performance Order Storage (HPOS). It is compatible with most extensions, including WooCommerce Subscriptions and WooCommerce Pre-Orders. Its REST API follows WordPress and WooCommerce REST API standards.

Setup includes one-click creation of the gift card product. The store can then configure amounts, delivery, email presentation, balance behavior, expiration dates, and other Pro options for its workflow.
