Work with translations in the page layout
TranslatePress Premium extends TranslatePress with paid tools for multilingual WordPress sites. Its front-end visual editor shows translations in place as you edit. You can translate page content and output from shortcodes, forms, page builders, Gutenberg blocks, themes, plugins, and WooCommerce.
Choose how translations are created
Translate manually, start with automatic translation, or combine both by reviewing and refining automatically translated text in the visual editor. Each premium version includes full TranslatePress AI access with a set number of AI-translated words. Google Translate can use your own API key, and automatic translation can be enabled or disabled. DeepL Automatic Translation is a separate add-on that uses the DeepL API.
Translations are stored in your site's database. TranslatePress AI requests send page text, your license key, website URL, and language options; requests may be triggered by front-end visits. If you use Google Translate or DeepL with your API key, site content is sent to that provider, and translation requests may also be triggered by front-end visits.
Set language settings for visitors and editors
- Extra Languages: add an unlimited number of translation languages and publish each after its translations are complete.
- SEO Pack: translate page titles, descriptions, URL slugs, picture alt tags, and Twitter and Facebook Social Graph tags. It works with popular SEO extensions.
- Different Domain per Language: assign a different domain to each added language.
- Translator Accounts: let existing customers or created accounts translate the site without administrator rights.
- Browse as User Role: view and translate content visible to a particular user role.
- Navigation Based on Language: configure different menu items for each language.
- Automatic User Language Detection: redirect first-time visitors to their preferred language based on browser settings or IP address.
Adjust translated content and navigation
Translate pictures, sliders, and other media, as well as dynamic gettext strings from WordPress, themes, and plugins. Merge strings into Translation Blocks to translate multiple HTML elements together, or use conditional display shortcodes for language-specific content. You can also edit gettext strings from English to English without adding another language, translate selected paths, and exclude content from translation.
Display the language switcher as a menu item, floating dropdown, Language Switcher block, or shortcode. Choose whether language names appear in their native form or in English, make custom links open in the current language, and enable or disable a URL subdirectory for the default language.
Set up the translation workflow
Add TranslatePress Premium to your WordPress site, set the default language and translation languages, then pick the premium tools for your workflow. Configure the language switcher, translation method, and optional URL settings before reviewing pages in the front-end editor. Publish each added language after its translations are complete.
