File controls let administrators make, remove, organize, upload, and download individual items. Complete theme and plugin downloads are also available when you need a copy of all files in a selected theme or plugin.
Move theme work into a child theme
Create or remove theme files and folders, upload or download theme files, and download a complete theme. The child-theme utilities create a new child theme or duplicate an existing one. A query or selector capability is available, along with an option to move a file from a parent theme to a child theme. The documented controls cover file movement; they do not specify how parent updates or file conflicts are handled.
For a selected theme, image controls let administrators view associated pictures and upload or download images. You can also replace the theme screenshot by uploading a new one. Theme preview and child-theme permission controls are included.
Manage plugin files
Plugin controls cover creating and removing files and folders, uploading or downloading individual plugin files, and downloading a complete plugin. These operations support direct work with plugin code and file structure in the same interface used for themes.
Set access and open the editor
The Pro feature set includes user permissions and user role permissions to manage access to editing functions. Email notifications to the administrator are also included for relevant plugin activity.
Install Theme Editor Pro as a WordPress plugin, open its interface, select a theme or plugin, and pick a file operation or supported code file to edit. The listed minimum requirements are WordPress 3.3 or later, PHP 5.x, and MySQL 5.x.
