Accessibility Checker Pro: WordPress Accessibility Scans

What does Accessibility Checker Pro scan?

Accessibility Checker Pro helps WordPress content creators, site owners, and developers find and address accessibility issues. It runs more than 40 automated checks based on WCAG 2.2, primarily related to Level A and AA success criteria. Each finding includes documentation that explains the issue and guides remediation.

Accessibility Checker scans content when it is saved or published, then displays problems in the WordPress editor. Review findings on the edit screen or switch to a front-end view to see the components that need attention.

How do teams review findings?

Teams can include accessibility review in regular content updates. Common content changes include adding missing alternative text, improving heading order, correcting link text, addressing color contrast, and adding headings to tables. Some findings require changes to a theme, plugin, or custom code. The issue information can help teams explain those problems to the appropriate developer.

What does Pro add to scanning?

Pro works with bulk full-website scans and scans for custom post types, including portfolios, team member pages, and WooCommerce products. This extends review beyond standard posts and pages.

Which automated fixes are available?

Accessibility Checker includes one-click fixes for common barriers. Available fixes include:

  • Adding skip links and focus outlines
  • Blocking links from opening new windows, forcing links to be underlined, and adding warnings to links that open in new tabs
  • Labeling comment, search, and form fields
  • Adding missing language and direction attributes, making the viewport scalable, and removing positive tab indexes
  • Removing title attributes when preferred accessible names are present
  • Showing an error message for empty search submissions
  • Adding file size and type information to links

Pro-specific automated fixes can add missing page titles and block PDF uploads.

Which editing processes are supported?

Accessibility Checker has been tested with the Gutenberg Block Editor, Classic Editor, Advanced Custom Fields, Avada, Beaver Builder, Divi, Elementor, Oxygen, WP Bakery, and WooCommerce.

What support is included?

Pro customers receive unlimited personal support for add-on usage and functions. Customers on a small business plan or above receive two accessibility office hours calls each month for remediation questions. Issue information and linked help articles can also support teams as they work through findings.

How do you get started?

Install Accessibility Checker Pro in WordPress, then save or publish content to begin scanning. Review reported issues in the editor and use available automated fixes where appropriate. Run broader scans for custom post types or WooCommerce content as part of an ongoing accessibility review process.
