Choose a numbering method
The numbering process supports sequential numbers, WooCommerce order IDs, and pseudorandom numbers based on a CRC32 hash. Set a custom starting number for future orders and include the order date in a number, including as a prefix. For sequential numbering, configure automatic daily, monthly, or yearly resets and set the number where the sequence restarts.
Set the reference format
Advanced templates define the structure of order numbers. Pro adds custom suffixes, configurable number width, conditional prefixes and suffixes, and manual order number counters. Conditional rules can vary prefixes or suffixes according to order details, including the customer’s visitor role.
- Use templates to define order number structure.
- Add custom prefixes or suffixes, with conditional rules where needed.
- Set the number width for a consistent format.
- Use manual counters for direct control over numbering.
Apply numbers to store processes
The built-in Renumerate Orders tool can assign custom numbers to existing orders. Custom order numbers can be searched in the WooCommerce admin, and clients can use the number with their billing email address on the standard WooCommerce Order Tracking page.
The add-on is compatible with invoice add-ons that display custom order numbers on invoices and related documents, including WooCommerce PDF Invoices, Packing Slips, Delivery Notes & Shipping Labels; Print Invoice & Delivery Notes for WooCommerce; Invoices for WooCommerce; WooCommerce PDF Invoices & Packing Slips; Booster for WooCommerce; and Challan.
Set up numbering
Install Custom Order Numbers for WooCommerce Pro on the WordPress site running your WooCommerce store. Open the extension settings, pick a numbering method, then configure the relevant template, counter, width, prefixes, suffixes, and conditions. Use Renumerate Orders to assign numbers to existing orders when you need a consistent reference system.
Plan the format around the references used in your administration and customer-facing processes so order numbers remain consistent across the dashboard, tracking page, invoices, and other order documents.
