Choose what to download

Download Plugins and Themes in ZIP from Dashboard PRO adds ZIP download controls to WordPress administration. From the Plugins page, download an individual extension. From Appearance > Themes, download a theme or child theme. You can also make one combined file containing all installed plugins and themes.

These controls help developers and website administrators prepare documents for review, local development, or archiving without FTP or cPanel access.

Set the archive layout and filename

Choose whether a ZIP includes the main add-on or theme directory, or starts at the inner folders level. You can append the plugin or theme version number to the ZIP filename. For ZIP handling, select either the ZipArchive or PclZip library to fit your server and tools requirements.

Organize recurring downloads

PRO lets you schedule periodical downloads of plugins and themes at intervals from once a minute to every four weeks. For scheduled ZIP files, you can append the date and time to filenames, tailor the naming convention, and pick where the downloads are stored. Timestamps help distinguish files created at different points in a process, while a chosen storage path gives recurring files a consistent location.

Customize the Plugins page link

Change the download plugin link’s color, font weight, and displayed text. The customized link remains available on the Plugins page next to the relevant plugin.

Configure downloads in WordPress

Install the PRO plugin on the site where you want to prepare plugin and theme ZIP files. Use its settings and dashboard controls to configure archive behavior, scheduled downloads, filenames, storage paths, and the appearance of the download link.
