Server and product integration

License For Envato Pro provides a WordPress license server for developers selling themes or extensions through Envato. The server validates purchase codes through the official Envato API and stores activation details by domain in the WordPress database. Customers can activate or deactivate a copy from the theme or plugin settings page using the included PHP client class and REST API endpoints.

The token-based activation flow uses AES-256-CBC encrypted storage. License entries can be searched and managed in the WordPress admin panel, and the plugin has no external runtime dependencies.

How Pro capabilities connect

WooCommerce orders can connect sales to license management. For products distributed outside a directory, self-hosted updates deliver automatic updates for your own themes and add-ons. Configurable activation limits control how many domains can use each license.

• Sales and issuance: Integrate licenses with WooCommerce orders, or issue them manually and in bulk without an Envato purchase.
• Expiry handling: Enforce support expiry and re-sync renewals from Envato on demand. Email notifications and a daily digest cover upcoming expirations.
• Integrations: Send signed-payload webhooks to your own integrations.
• Controls and records: Blacklist purchase codes or domains, review license activity, and export activity records as CSV.
• Analytics and support: Review license information in the analytics dashboard. The Pro capability list includes priority support.

Setup sequence

1. Install the plugin on the WordPress site that will act as the license server.
2. In wp-admin > License Envato > Settings > Envato, enter your Envato personal token and select Save Envato Token. The token needs permissions to view and search Envato sites, view your account username and email, verify purchases of your items, and list purchases you have made.
3. Copy the provided PHP class into your theme’s functions.php file or a dedicated plugin file. Set LICENCE_CALL_URL to your WordPress site URL and define a unique PREFIX for each product. Separate prefixes keep option keys distinct in the WordPress database.
4. On the product settings page, instantiate licenseCodeVerifyForm(); to show the customer activation and deactivation form.

The client uses /wp-json/licenseenvato/v1/active for activation and /wp-json/licenseenvato/v1/deactive for deactivation.
