Make WordPress location maps searchable
MapPress Pro adds search, geolocation, and filtering to maps and store locators built with MapPress. Visitors can narrow a collection of locations and explore places such as shops, offices, real estate listings, travel routes, delivery areas, or directory entries.
For locations spread across posts, the Gutenberg mashup block can bring them together in one searchable map. Map and mashup widgets offer more ways to place a map or location collection in a WordPress layout.
Connect maps to WordPress content
Create maps with Gutenberg map blocks or the classic editor and add them to posts, pages, or custom post types. MapPress also works with shortcodes and map generation with PHP. Pro can generate maps automatically from custom fields and integrates with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF).
MapPress supports Google Maps, Mapbox, and Leaflet maps using OpenFreeMap and OpenStreetMap data. Google Maps and Mapbox require an API key; OpenFreeMap does not. Maps are stored independently of the map engine, so you can switch engines without losing them.
Organize markers and location details
Choose how locations appear on the map and in lists. Upload custom marker artwork, use the marker editor's icons, shapes, and colors, or assign marker icons automatically by taxonomy, tag, or category. Customizable marker and list templates let you shape how location information is presented.
Set map size, content, and display
Responsive maps can be sized in pixels, percentages, or viewport units. Popups can contain custom text, photos, pictures, and links. MapPress also supports styled maps, marker clustering, Google traffic, bicycling, and transit overlays, directions from Google Maps, and geocoding through Google, Nominatim, or Mapbox.
For routes and drawn areas, use KML overlays, GPX tracks, or polygons, circles, and lines. MapPress also supports WPML and WordPress Multisite.
Set up a map
Install and activate MapPress in WordPress, then choose a map engine and make a map from the Gutenberg editor, classic editor, or a supported content area. Add locations and markers, configure the map's size and presentation, and enable Pro tools such as search, filters, custom markers, or mashups as needed. If you choose Google Maps or Mapbox, provide the required API key. OpenFreeMap maps do not need one.
