Podcast Importer Pro is the paid edition of Podcast Importer SecondLine. It brings podcast episodes from RSS feeds into regular WordPress posts or an existing custom post type, so episodes can fit a site's current publishing structure. Separate shows can use different import options on the same site.

Map feed content to WordPress

Choose a Custom Post Type or Custom Taxonomy for imported episodes. Import feed categories and tags to carry over their organization, and import transcripts when they are included in the RSS feed. The importer can save an audio player in custom fields and import native or embedded players from supported podcast hosting providers.

Listed providers include Buzzsprout, Megaphone, Pinecast, Captivate, Transistor, Spotify for Creators, Simplecast, Podbean, Whooshkaa, Omny, Ausha, Spreaker, Beamly, Audioboom, Fireside, and Libsyn, among others. Podcast Importer SecondLine also works with websites using podcasting add-ons such as PowerPress, Seriously Simple Podcasting, and Simple Podcast Press.

Run imports on demand or by schedule

The Pro edition supports unlimited scheduled imports, with specific intervals or times for individual feeds. Enable continuous importing to bring future episodes into WordPress as they are released. Use the manual Sync button for an on-demand update, or force a re-sync of existing episodes to refresh their metadata. You can also import featured images or set one global featured picture for all imported episodes.

To stop a scheduled import, delete its import entry. Repeated runs do not import the same post twice. Large feeds, especially when importing featured images, may need several runs to finish.

Set up a feed

Install and activate Podcast Importer SecondLine in WordPress, then open Tools > Podcast Importer SecondLine in the dashboard and create an import. Enter the podcast RSS feed and choose its destination content type, taxonomy, categories, featured-image behavior, and other settings. For future episodes to import automatically, enable continuous importing before running the import and set the schedule.

After the initial import, review the created episodes. Use manual Sync when an immediate update is needed. Configure each feed separately to give different shows their own schedules and destinations.
