SuperPWA Premium for WordPress PWA Setup

What visitors can access offline
SuperPWA Premium helps configure a WordPress website as a Progressive Web App (PWA). On supported mobile devices and browsers, visitors can install the website from an “Add To Home Screen” prompt or the browser menu, then open it from their home screen through an app-like interface.
Pages visitors have opened are stored locally on their devices using the CacheStorage API. Cached pages can be read offline. If someone opens a page that is not cached while offline, the configured offline page appears.
Set up the app presentation
The plugin generates a web app manifest and includes it to the website. Settings let you choose the application icon, splash screen background color and show property. Maskable and monochrome icons are supported, as are WordPress installations in a sub-folder.
Options listed for the PRO version
The PRO version lists these additional options for the PWA:
- Call To Action prompts for visitors
- An Android APK app generator
- Data Analytics
- A pre-loader
- App shortcuts
- A QR code generator
Setup and requirements
The website must use HTTPS, and the browser must support web app manifests and service workers. The listed major browsers include Google Chrome 57+, Chrome for Android 62, Mozilla Firefox 57 and Firefox for Android 58.
In WordPress Admin, open Plugins > Add New, search for “Super Progressive Web Apps,” choose Install Now and then Activate. In the SuperPWA settings, choose the application icon, set the splash screen color and display property, select an offline page, then save. The plugin's clean uninstall removes the database entries and files it creates.
