Choose how data moves
A trigger sends information to an API or external service after a WordPress event, such as a visitor login or form submission. An action receives data from an external service and runs a task on your site, such as creating a user or post. Pro Flows link triggers and actions in order.
The integration catalog references more than 100 integrations, including Zapier, Pabbly, Make, Integrately, and automate.io. POST is the default request method; GET, HEAD, PUT, DELETE, TRACE, OPTIONS, and PATCH are also supported. Request data can use XML, JSON, plain text or HTML, forms, and form URL-encoded formats.
Automate WordPress and plugin activity
- Create or update users and user meta, including fields supported by Advanced Custom Fields, and add or remove multiple user roles.
- Create posts with post meta or update existing posts.
- Send data after Gravity Forms or WPForms submissions, or make WooCommerce orders from Airtable data.
- Send data when users log in, register, edit a profile, or confirm an email address.
- Connect events from Paid Member Subscriptions and WP Simple Pay to external services.
- Run PHP code from incoming data or fire an existing WP Webhooks trigger.
Map data and manage access
Data mapping lets you change incoming and outgoing values. Test triggers and actions with one click, authenticate each with an API key, bearer token, or Basic Authentication, and create unlimited webhook action URLs. Pro includes unlimited triggers, actions, and Flows, along with Pro integrations, capabilities, extensions, and security controls.
Bulk actions can execute multiple actions at once. Shortcodes, custom links, buttons, and WordPress hooks offer other ways to start an automation. Logs help with debugging; IP whitelisting, access tokens, and webhook URL action whitelisting add controls over access. The extension also includes a whitelabel feature and in-plugin extension management.
Connect AI services and WordPress Abilities
AI integrations include Google Gemini with Nano Banana support, OpenAI ChatGPT, and Open Router. They connect to WordPress workflows through webhooks for tasks such as content creation and data processing.
On WordPress 6.9 or newer, you can expose selected WP Webhooks actions as WordPress Abilities. Exposure is off by default and configured per action. Each exposed Ability has input and output schemas and a permission check, and actions that change or delete data require confirmation before exposure. Abilities are available through the WordPress REST API; an MCP server is needed to provide them as tools to MCP clients.
WP Webhooks can also run, list, and describe Abilities registered on your site through incoming webhooks. You can pick the user these actions run as, and a separate setting controls running Abilities that change data.
Set up a process
Install and activate WP Webhooks, then open Settings > WP Webhooks. Configure the needed integrations, triggers, actions, or Flows; authenticate external connections; and test the setup. Review the logs as you adjust data mapping and webhook permissions.
