Cache pages and tune navigation
When .htaccess caching is enabled, cached pages can be served as static HTML without running WordPress for each response. This reduces the processing involved and may lower TTFB and server load.
Adaptive Contents generates a lightweight version of the website intended to improve PageSpeed scores while preserving functionality. Instant Page uses just-in-time preloading to load the next page before a visitor clicks it.
Manage assets and pictures
WPSpeed can minify JavaScript, CSS, and HTML, remove whitespace, and combine documents into fewer requests. Above-the-Fold CSS extraction prioritizes critical styles and loads the remaining CSS asynchronously. Controls also let you defer, asynchronously load, or preload CSS, JavaScript, and web fonts.
Resource controls can remove unused CSS, JavaScript, and fonts, rewrite asset URLs to a CDN, and manage exclusions when optimization causes conflicts. DOM reduction can remove unnecessary components and load heavy blocks asynchronously. HTTP/2 optimizations support server push on compatible servers.
PRO unlocks the full set of image optimization rules. Images can be resized and compressed, background images optimized, and image srcset entries created using up to four sizes. The add-on works with WebP and AVIF conversion. Lazy loading can defer images, iframes, and heavy HTML elements until they are needed.
Configure and review site behavior
Automatic configuration finds settings for the site, and integrated Google PageSpeed Insights testing lets you review performance in the plugin. Enable the caching, image, lazy-loading, minification, and resource options you need, then check the resulting pages and site functions. This is especially useful when tuning sites with substantial scripts or page-builder assets, including Elementor.
