With Updater Pro, you pick how update work starts. In manual mode, you initiate it; in automatic mode, the extension searches for and applies selected updates at a configured frequency. Its options are designed for setup without code changes or FTP access.

Choose which components to update

Select whether to search for and update WordPress core, plugins, themes, and translations. For automatic updates, exclude specific plugins or themes, including inactive ones. You can also disable automatic updates for WordPress core when you want to manage core updates separately. Updater Pro works with updates for products purchased through Envato.

Back up before updates

The add-on can create database and file backups before applying updates. Options include all folders and all tables, and you can enable automatic deletion of older backups.

Configure notices and update timing

Set an email recipient and personalize the “FROM” field. Notifications can report available versions and follow updates. The plugin sends notices when updates are available; if there are none, you will not receive an update notice. Delivery depends on the WordPress site's email configuration. If messages do not arrive, check the plugin settings and, if needed, configure an SMTP plugin.

Scheduled searches and updates run when the site is active. If the site has no activity at the scheduled time, the work waits until activity resumes, so the actual run time can shift.

Install and set up

Install and activate Updater Pro in WordPress, then open Updater settings to choose the update mode, update types, frequency, notification details, exclusions, and backup options. Step-by-step documentation and installation videos are available. The plugin is multilingual and RTL ready; listed translations include Russian, Ukrainian, French, Italian, Arabic, German, and Spanish. Some translations may be incomplete.

When reporting a problem, include the affected page, plugin and WordPress versions, a system status report, and your order number if you use the Pro version.
