Choose a layout and content source

Visual Portfolio Pro extends WordPress gallery and portfolio blocks for images, videos, posts, projects, and albums. Build galleries without coding, then pick masonry, justified, tiles, grid, slider, or carousel layouts. The editor’s live preview lets you review layout and styling changes as you work.

Use images, posts, projects, or taxonomy terms as gallery content. An optional portfolio post type keeps projects grouped separately from other post types, with taxonomies to organize them. Pro also supports nested galleries and album-style content in picture galleries, posts, and taxonomy grids.

Add video and social content

Add video entries directly to image galleries and post grids. Set a video to autoplay when opened or play on hover. Social feeds can automatically fetch posts from Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo, and Unsplash for show in a site gallery.

For posts and pages, Quick View opens content in a popup iframe, giving users a preview-style view of articles or projects. Popup Gallery Deep Linking changes the URL when a popup opens, so visitors can link directly to a specific popup image. Lightboxes work with Visual Portfolio galleries and standard WordPress images and galleries in site content.

Adjust the look and interaction

Advanced skin settings control image filters and blend modes for normal and hover states, image transformations and corner rounding, and typography, padding, and margins for captions and overlays. Add hover tilt, a custom hover image, or the Caption Move skin. Animated GIFs display in galleries, and Pro can show them on mouseover.

Help visitors browse larger collections

Filter galleries and portfolios by taxonomy, then sort items by date or title. AJAX updates dynamic gallery content in live mode. Choose infinite scroll, a Load More button, or paged pagination, and adjust the spacing between images and projects.

Lazy loading brings images in as needed. The modular structure loads scripts and styles when a gallery is displayed, and galleries support smart adaptive image sizes and compatibility with third-party WebP providers and image optimization extensions.

Set up a gallery

Install Visual Portfolio in WordPress and activate Pro using its product setup. Create a gallery or portfolio block, choose a content source, and choose a layout. Use the live preview to adjust skins, lightbox behavior, filters, pagination, and spacing. Add the block to a page or post, then review the gallery on the front end.
