How the theme controls affect the site
Options for Twenty Seventeen Premium adds options for the default Twenty Seventeen WordPress theme. These controls let you adjust its layout and appearance, including page widths, colors, borders, branding, images, menus, titles, links, and footer components.
Front page, blog, and search layouts
For a static front page, add sections, display featured images in the section blog, and set the height of section parallax images. Menu links can point to these sections through anchor links. Blog and search pages can be set to one column.
You can add widget areas below page titles and add “Back to top” links, with an option to fix those links at the browser window’s bottom right. Home and archive pages can automatically show post excerpts, with a setting for their maximum word count.
Header images, parallax, and video
Featured images in front page sections can use true parallax, or you can remove that effect. A true parallax effect can also be applied to the cover image. Set the home page header image height, or use a featured image as the header image while showing the full-size header image.
Other image controls conceal the header image everywhere except the home page, hide site branding on other pages, and let you choose and style a page background image. For header video, you can hide a YouTube video until it loads, pause it when the user scrolls, or disable looping for an MP4 video.
Branding, styling, and navigation
Adjust the widths of the site, header, navigation, content, and footer. Set background colors, style the site title and description, align branding, and change colors for paragraphs, headings, links, menus, and footer elements.
Navigation settings cover the main menu scroll-down arrow, sticky menu width, mobile menu label, menu padding and background, and submenu arrow rotation. You can also adjust content spacing, featured image borders, page and archive titles, post metadata, tag and category links, post navigation, footer branding, and the header image and cover presentation.
Widgets and typography
Add a widget sidebar in the header area or a widget area below page titles. You can hide the site title and description outside the home page. A setting can prevent the Libre Franklin Google font from loading as a page-speed adjustment.
A social network menu can be displayed in content with the [social-links] shortcode.
Getting started
Use the extension with the Twenty Seventeen theme. Review the premium settings and choose the layout, branding, media, navigation, and content changes for your site. Apply changes gradually and compare the front page, blog, search pages, header, and footer as you go.
