Set up languages and their URLs

Polylang Pro is a paid extension for publishing WordPress content in multiple languages. Its shared core uses WordPress taxonomies and supports any number of languages. Language packs download automatically when they are ready. The core handles translations for posts, pages, media, categories, post tags, custom post types, custom taxonomies, and RSS feeds, and supports right-to-left scripts.

Choose how language versions appear in site addresses: use a language code in the URL, or assign a separate subdomain or domain to each language. Language switchers are available as blocks, classic widgets, or classic navigation menu entries.

Move translations through the editorial workflow

When creating a post or page translation, categories, post tags, and other metadata can be copied automatically. Polylang Pro also lets editors duplicate content across post translations and synchronize content between them. Its Block Editor integration includes language settings to the widget block editor, and template parts can be translated in the Site Editor for full-website editing themes.

These utilities support different ways of working: editors can start from a duplicated post, keep selected content synchronized, or send XLIFF files for professional translation and import the returned content.

Navigation and compatibility

Classic menus and widgets can be translated. In block themes, these functions are also accessible with Site Editor Classic Features. Compatibility with Yoast SEO is included.

WooCommerce requires its add-on

WooCommerce translation is provided through the separate Polylang for WooCommerce add-on. It covers pages such as the shop, checkout, cart, and my account areas, as well as product categories and global attribute terms in the WooCommerce interface. The add-on can translate customer emails into customers' languages and synchronize product metadata.

It works with WooCommerce's native CSV import and export tool and supports extensions including WooCommerce Subscriptions, Product Bundles, WooCommerce Bookings, and Shipment Tracking. Polylang for WooCommerce customers also have access to premium support.
