BetterDocs Pro helps you organize WordPress documentation for customers, products, teams or separate audiences. Readers can search and browse help articles, while website owners manage documentation in structured knowledge bases.
Organize documentation by audience
Create multiple knowledge bases for different products or documentation groups on one WordPress website. Manage roles for knowledge base users and assign access, including for private internal resources alongside public help content.
Help readers find and navigate files
BetterDocs includes a live search bar that shows relevant documentation as visitors type. Pro includes advanced search layouts and options to showcase popular documents. Arrange categories in an advanced list view or a drag-and-drop grid view.
Longer articles can include a Table of Contents or Sticky Table of Contents, and single documents can display estimated reading time.
Add supporting information to articles
Add attachments to single documents for supplementary material, or embed related documents to connect readers with relevant information. Glossary tooltips explain frequently used terms and technical language. You can also display glossary or documentation entries alphabetically.
Customize and manage your knowledge base
Ready-made templates are available for documentation landing pages, single documents and archive pages. Customize pages with the built-in theme options, shortcodes, Elementor widgets, Gutenberg blocks or patterns. BetterDocs is compatible with Elementor, WPML and Full Site Editing.
CSV and XML import and export options support migration and backup workflows. BetterDocs can also migrate a knowledge base from a third-party solution such as Help Scout. Analytics functions help you review documentation performance, visitor behavior and popular documents.
Set up a knowledge base
Install and activate BetterDocs on your WordPress site, then open its options. Create categories and knowledge bases, pick a layout and add documents. For Pro workflows, create separate knowledge bases, assign user roles, and add attachments or related documents. Enable advanced search or popular document layouts as needed.
